Ending the week on a high

This cactus has been building to flower for a month, the first one finally opened yesterday.  It was worth the wait.

    Cacti often flower for a limited time period, but boy when they do flower, they do it right! Very nice. Is this an Echinocereus? Flower looks right. My Echinocereus pectinatus v. rubispinus plants are flowering now here in Maryland USA.
